On September 9th, Immanuel Community Church in NYC held a gracious Sunday service with Dr. De Veries preaching the sermon from II Corinthians 5:14-21 with the title of ‘Embracing the Grace of Living in Christ’.
He emphasized that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has put in us the message of reconciliation. We used to have the eyes to see people and judge them from the viewpoint of the world. However, as we engage our new Experiences “in Christ”, from now on we see no one according to the flesh. We have new eyes and if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come!.
We should realize our new relationships “in Christ”. In verse 18, it says that all this is from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 19 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has put in us the message of reconciliation.
He also encourages that all of us, whether we acknowledge or not, are the Ambassadors of Christ. We can only become either a bad or good ambassador as we became our new selves “in Christ”. In Christ, each one of us is changed! So let us Engage our new experiences in Christ and represent our new relationships in Christ.
